Repeater Codes

Autopatch:

use “***” to bring up. Release PTT, wait for dial tone, transmit full phone number (1 plus area code plus number). Free long distance! When you’re finished, shut it down with a single “#”.

160-80-40-20 Meter HF SSB Monitoring:

The CARC Repeater allows monitoring of popular HF DX and periodic HF networks. Send “*77″ to bring up the monitoring. To shut it down, send “#1″. While the monitoring is enabled, audio from an HF receiver will be present on the repeater’s output. Because the system will be transmitting the entire time, please limit your HF monitoring to 20 minutes.

Signal Check:

Are you getting in? Check for yourself! Send a “#0″ and the repeater will reply if it is able to understand your signal with the morse code signal for a zero. While the tail is transmitting, you may send other touch-tones, and the repeater will respond to each one (one at a time). Note: if your receiver shows an S2, you are probably full quieting into the repeater.

Force ID: Send “##” to force the voice ID and to hear current messages. Send #9 to force CW ID.

Time-outs: Under usual repeater modes (general use and autopatch) there is a 10 minute automatic time-out (saves the repeater PA) if there is no break. This is preceded by a 3 beep warning tone a few seconds before cutoff. Just let the repeater rest by letting it down during long QSOs, and it will reset. If it does time-out, the next input will reset the timer, and all is well. During Remote Monitoring of the HF bands, there is no time-out. Please keep to 20 minutes.
